This is a reply to those posts that say things like “real women have curves!” etc. Not having curves doesn’t make you any less of a real woman.
Note: I am not trying to imply that HAVING curves makes you less of a real woman either…

I’m focusing on messages that I’ve seen on Tumblr that put down skinny girls, such as one that I saw that said “Men like meat on their girls, bones are for dogs” (something along those lines). I think “real women have curves” is better, and it’s great about encouraging women of all shapes to feel okay in their skin, but it’s unnecessary and wrong to have to put down skinny girls in the process :)

THANK YOU. MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY.

THIS. Glad you love your body, everyone should. But bigger girls don’t need to hate on the skinny girls like we’re diseased. Sometimes it’s really just genetics from the other side of the spectrum.

Camera Obscure with Abelardo Morell: He covered all his windows with black plastic in order to achieve total darkness, he then cut a small hole in the same black plastic material, an image of the outside scenery was reflected directly on the opposite wall, but it was upside-down.

The Library Phantom strikes again—but for the last time! As RadioLab’s Robert Krulwich reports, via This is Central Station, a woman has been leaving tiny paper sculptures in libraries and museums across Edinburgh.

These gorgeous pieces, details from a few of which you can see above, were secreted away with a few clues here and there. The sculptor wrote in a final statement that she offered them as “[a] tiny gesture in support of the special places,” a truly valuable sentiment as the very idea of libraries as distinct and public institutions comes increasingly under attack.

The Charity Search launched at midnight, and allows you to search Google, Yahoo, or Bing the same way you would any of those search engines on their own. The difference is, each search donates 1 cent to Invisible Children and other great organizations. How easy is that? Can you imagine how fast that money adds up, given how many people use search engines every minute?
